Who it is for

Attendance software for businesses that run shifts

Manufacturing, hospitals, security, logistics, retail, field service. Different industries, one thing in common: the working week is not Monday to Friday, and most attendance software quietly assumes it is.

Six kinds of roster

The problem, and what AMS does about it

Each of these is a real scheduling shape, not a market segment. If yours looks like one of them, the fit is usually good.

Manufacturing & plants

A six-day week, a plant that shuts on a weekday rather than Sunday, and three shifts rotating across the same machines.

Per-shift working days and per-employee weekly offs mean a six-day line and a five-day office sit in the same company without inventing a shift for every combination. Supervisors mark on behalf when the biometric is down — with a reason recorded every time.

Hospitals & clinics

Nurses and support staff on rotating nights, a roster that changes monthly, and a register that has to stand up to inspection.

Night shifts that cross midnight land on the day the shift started, so the muster shows the night as worked rather than as two broken half-days. The muster roll is the whole month as a grid, one row per person.

Security agencies

Guards posted across client sites, twelve-hour shifts, high turnover, and almost nobody carrying a work email address.

Staff sign in with an employee ID and a temporary password issued by HR — email is genuinely optional, not a workaround. Joiners and leavers are counted for the part of the month they actually worked.

Logistics & warehousing

Early starts, overtime that nobody agrees on, and a month end reconciled by hand from three different sources.

Hours worked and overtime are computed against each employee's own shift, and the whole month exports to Excel with real dates and times — the file your payroll already runs from.

Retail & hospitality

Staff across branches, weekends that are the busiest days, and week-offs that fall on a different day for every person.

Weekly offs belong to the person, not the shift. Saturday and Sunday are ordinary working days where your business says they are, and the attendance rate is calculated against what each person was actually due.

Field service & projects

Engineers who go straight from home to a customer site and are never near an office or a machine all day.

On-field is its own attendance mode, kept separate from work-from-home and from absence. A daily work note lets the engineer write what they did, so the punch record is something a manager can actually read.

Be honest

When AMS is not the answer

Three situations where we are the wrong choice, said here rather than discovered on a demo call.

  • A single office where everyone works Monday to Friday, nine to six — most tools handle that, and you do not need us
  • Companies who need payroll processed in the same system today
  • Anyone whose attendance must come from a biometric device right now

Questions

Frequently asked

Is AMS industry-specific?

No. It is built around how the working week is actually shaped rather than around an industry. What the businesses above have in common is that they run shifts, not that they make the same thing. If your week is not Monday to Friday, the fit is usually good regardless of sector.

We have staff across several sites. Does that work?

Yes. Employees belong to departments and can be filtered and reported by them, and every report is scope-aware so a site or department head sees only their own people. A separate branch-level hierarchy beyond departments is not built yet.

Most of our workers have no phone or email. Can they still be tracked?

Partly, today. Staff with no email sign in with an employee ID and a password, and an admin can mark attendance on behalf with a reason recorded. A supervisor role that marks a whole crew at once, for workers with no device at all, is designed and next in the queue rather than shipped — we would rather say so before you buy.

We run three shifts. Does AMS handle rotation?

Yes. Shifts are assigned to employees over date ranges, and starting a new assignment closes the previous one automatically, so moving someone onto nights for a fortnight and back again is a normal operation rather than a workaround.

Our plant closes on a weekday, not Sunday. Is that a problem?

No, and it is one of the reasons AMS exists. Working days are a property of the shift, and weekly offs are a property of the person. A Wednesday-off plant and a Sunday-off office coexist in one company without either being described as an exception.

A working demo takes about twenty minutes, and we will use your shifts and your week-offs rather than a sample company.
